St. Petersburg, Russia - A Festival of National Games and Non-Olympic Sports took place at the Zerkalny Suburban Center in St. Petersburg from July 18 until August 5. Promoting a healthy lifestyle, the "Zerkalyonok – A Sporting Kid" events attracted about 350 children from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad District. The participation of UPF in this program was organized by Pavel Toloshinov, head of UPF-St. Petersburg.

Russian Ambassadors for Peace decided to conduct in Moscow and other cities and regions of Russia a series of public events during 2008 under the motto “Peace in Heart - Love in the Family – Peace on Earth.” Our overall goal is to build a sustainable civil coalition that is able to provide national leadership to promote patriotic and family values, living for the sake of others, civic accord, peace and reconciliation, interethnic and interreligious cooperation, and dialogue among cultures and civilizations, through arts and culture, sports, service, and education.

The International Leadership Conference held on April 3-6, 2008, in Seoul, Korea, to discuss ‘the New Paradigm of Leadership and Good Governance in the Pacific Era’, brought together 334 representatives from 92 countries and nations. The Eurasian delegation consisted of 58 participants.

On February 9-12, 2008 UPF held a World Peace Summit in Seoul, Korea. The Eurasian delegation was represented by 25 participants from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Peoples Republic of China, Russia and Ukraine.

Washington, DC - An International Leadership Conference entitled “Toward a New Paradigm of Leadership and Good Governance” took place in Washington, DC, Dec. 16-19, 2007. Twelve Eurasians were among the 140 participants. The conference addressed two main issues: the development of an “Abel UN” and the unity of North and South America.

UPF-Eurasia Assistant Secretary General Konstantin Krylov came from Moscow for the occasion, and gave the welcoming address, reporting on UPF history and activities worldwide. Then, St. Petersburg UPF Director Ilya Zakharov gave presentations on the "Need for Character Education" and "the Family as the School of Love."
