Yekaterinburg, Russia - An electronic bridge was formed n February 25 between Yekaterinburg, Russia, and Tbilisi, Georgia, on the theme of “We Make Peace.” Seeing each other electronically, the participants discussed the deep meaning of such notions as peace, peacemaking, service, the origin of conflicts, and what could and should be done to put an end to violence on the planet.
Novosibirsk, Russia - Nowadays it is impossible to achieve good results in serving the people when acting single-handedly. Members of grassroots organizations and spiritual movements are gradually coming to understand this point. Public leaders admit also the fact that if you adhere to the principle “my ideology is good and yours is improper,” you cannot get very far.

St. Petersburg, Russia - At the February 22 meeting of the UPF Peace Council of North-West Russia, Krasnosumova Tatyana reported about the Festival of Spiritual Music held to commemorate the UN Week of Interfaith Harmony in Kondopoga, Karelia. The festival helped unite people of different religions and contribute to mutual understanding by helping people see that despite our differences we all long for peace and kindness. Art is an important factor in the matter.
Moscow, Russia - UPF-Russia held a forum on “Prospects and challenges of creating more secure world” on Feb. 19, 2011, for Ambassadors for Peace, experts in human rights and civil society, representatives of NGOs, political parties and the media.
Moscow, Russia - At the Institute of the Far East, Russian Academy of Sciences, a round-table meeting on the “Korean War: Lessons of History” took place on Feb. 15, 2012, initiated by the Center of Korean Research.
Yekaterinburg, Russia - Disabled and elderly people living in the boarding house “7 Springs” in Yekaterinburg were visited on Feb. 10, 2011, by representatives of different Christian bodies and yoga practitioners as part of a World Interfaith Harmony Week observance.
Novosibirsk, Russia - A meeting on the theme of "Love of God and your neighbor as the foundation of world peace" took place in the center of Russia on February 6. The 40 participants included leaders and representatives of various NGOs, religions, traditions, and beliefs.
Yekaterinburg, Russia - In the comfortable hall of the Writers’ House in Yekaterinburg, representatives of different religions and spiritual groups met on February 6. This time it was a joint prayer for peace and mutual understanding in support of the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week.
Kondopoga, Russia - A Festival of Spiritual Music took place on February 4 supported by the municipal government of Kondopoga and the Consultative Council of Relations with National and Religious Associations. It was also an event in honor of the Interfaith Harmony Week proclaimed by the UN General Assembly.

Moscow, Russia - A “Play Football Make Peace” youth tournament took place at the Moskvich Sports Palace on January 30 with teams representating different religions playing not only for prizes but also to build friendships across barriers of religion, culture, and nationality.
Moscow, Russia - Experts, Ambassadors for Peace, and interested youth came together on January 28 at the UPF headquarters to examine the possibility of any form of dialogue between confessions and the obstacles to developing relations between followers of different religions.
St. Petersburg, Russia - The North-West Russian Peace Council met on January 27 in St. Petersburg to review the tenth anniversary of the proposal for establishing an interreligious council at the UN and to observe World Interfaith Harmony Week.
Ryazan, Russia - Ambassadors for Peace in Ryazan met on January 23 to reflect on the tenth anniversary of the Universal Peace Federation’s proposal to create an interreligious council within the UN system. The program was also related to the World Interreligious Harmony Week, which recently established by the UN General Assembly, which will be celebrated during the first week of February.
Yekaterinburg, Russia - Since September 2010, monthly meetings of representatives of different spiritual groups and religions have become traditional. Followers of different teachings make brief reports on the theme from the point of view of their teaching. In December the theme was the restoration of humanity and deliverance of the world from sin and violence. Afterwards, the participants prayed together. Music, poetry and songs added beauty to the event and created an elevated atmosphere.
St. Petersburg, Russia - Ambassadors for Peace met in the central library of the Krasnoselsky district on December 23. The purpose of the meeting was tuned with our wish to see each other, listen to short reports about UPF activities in 2010, and also discuss plans and goals for 2011 and 2012.
Moscow, Russia - UPF-Russia held an international conference on Dec. 18, 2010, the eve of UN International Human Solidarity Day, to explore the role of NGOs in promoting peace.
The second International “Light of the Christmas Star” Festival and Competition took place December 11-15 in Finland and Sweden. More than 700 participants came together from many cities and regions of Russia and had a unique opportunity to perform on the best stages of Helsinki and Stockholm.
Novosibirsk, Russia - In Novosibirsk, the geographical center of the Russian Federation, the first workshop of the Siberian chapter of UPF was held on December 14 to explain the goals and purposes of the Ambassadors for Peace movement. Among the participants were youth leaders, representatives of student organizations, university professors, a Russian Federation Honored Teacher, and people active in public affairs.
