United Nations Relations
As an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, the Universal Peace Federation promotes interfaith understanding, sustainable development, strengthening of marriage and family, mediation of conflict, the empowerment of women and the revitalization of the UN. UPF supports the goals of the UN with programs on occasions such as:
- World Interfaith Harmony Week (first week of February)
- International Women's Day (March 8)
- International Day of Families (May 15)
- Global Day of Parents (June 1)
- International Day of Peace (September 21)

Kokologho, Burkina Faso - In partnership with the literacy program of the national Ministry of Education and the Mayor of Kokologho, UPF-Burkina Faso organized a celebration of International Women's Day on March 27 attended by more than 300 people.

International Women's Day Commemorated in Bangui

Bangui, Central African Republic - A women's conference on March 21 and 22 culminated celebrations of the International Women's Day in Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic. The Women's Federation for World Peace, UPF, and OFCA (the main women's group in the country) sponsored the event, which concluded with an Ambassador for Peace appointment.

About 40 young Georgians discussed the meaning of peace, peacemaking, and service, and ways to put an end to violence towards women.
